Teacher Hub accounts and Google sign-in

Teacher Hub accounts are optional. Teachers may sign in using Google through Supabase Authentication. When a teacher signs in, the site may receive the basic information needed to authenticate the account, such as the teacher’s name, email address, and Google account identifier or an equivalent authentication identifier.

This information is used to authenticate the teacher, create and maintain the Teacher Hub account, associate saved resources with the correct teacher, maintain teacher profile information, and provide account-related features.

Teacher profile information

Teachers may voluntarily add a school name, subjects taught, and grade levels taught. This information is used to personalize and operate Teacher Hub features. A teacher’s sign-in email comes from the authentication provider and is not an ordinary editable profile field.

Saved resources and public sharing

Authenticated teachers may save educational resources and settings associated with their accounts. Some resources, such as Warm-Ups, can be intentionally shared through a public presentation link.

A saved resource is not made publicly accessible through a share link unless the teacher chooses to share it. Teachers can stop sharing a supported resource, which makes the previous public link unavailable. Some tools also use browser storage to preserve local drafts or settings on the device.

Email updates

Email updates are optional and separate from Teacher Hub account access. Creating an account does not automatically subscribe a teacher. A teacher must explicitly opt in to receive occasional updates about teaching resources, tools, features, and other Mr. Alongi Math news, and may unsubscribe at any time.

When someone subscribes, the site keeps the email address and records needed to honor and document the preference, such as the consent wording, source, version, and relevant timestamps.

Public activities, assignments, and site usage

Students do not need Teacher Hub accounts to use public educational activities. When a teacher creates a supported assignment, the site may store the teacher-provided assignment details and student-submitted first name or initials, class or period, and activity results so the teacher can review the report. Students are instructed not to enter student ID numbers, grades, or other private information.

The site also records limited usage information to understand which resources are useful. This may include an anonymous session identifier, pages visited, general interactions such as downloads or game starts, timestamps, and approximate country, region, or city supplied by the hosting infrastructure. The analytics system is not designed to record visitor names, email addresses, or IP addresses in its analytics records.

How information is used

Information is used to operate and secure the website, provide requested Teacher Hub and assignment features, maintain accounts and saved resources, honor email preferences, understand site performance and resource use, troubleshoot problems, and respond to requests.

Service providers and data storage

Math with Mr. Alongi uses third-party infrastructure and service providers needed to operate the site. These include Google for authentication and Supabase for authentication and Teacher Hub account and resource storage. Hosting and database providers also process information as needed to deliver the website, maintain site records, and provide security and reliability.

Use of these services does not mean that Google, Supabase, or another provider endorses Math with Mr. Alongi.

Data sharing

Personal information is not sold. Information may be processed by service providers as necessary to operate and protect the site. Information may also be disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to valid legal process, investigate misuse, protect the security of the site, or protect the rights and safety of users or others.

Security

Reasonable technical and organizational measures are used to protect account information, including authenticated access and access controls for teacher-owned resources. However, no internet-based service or storage system can guarantee absolute security.

Students and children

Teacher Hub accounts are intended for educators, not for student accounts. Students do not need a Teacher Hub account to use public or student-facing educational activities. Teachers should avoid placing confidential student information in saved resources, assignment titles, or other free-text fields.

Account and personal-information requests

Teachers may update their profile and email preference through Account / Profile. For help with an account or questions about personal information, including requests to review, correct, or delete applicable information, email svalongi@gmail.com. Please do not include student records, passwords, or other sensitive information in the email.

Policy updates

This policy may be updated as the website’s features or data practices change. The date at the top identifies the latest version.
