Compare carefully
Place the ideas side by side and look for the difference.
3x + 5 is an expression. 3x + 5 = 20 is an equation.
In 4x + 7, 4 is the coefficient and 7 is the constant.
In 3x + 5, 3x is a term. Inside 3x, 3 and x are factors.
In f(2) = 7, 2 is the input and 7 is the output.
